Hancock Park Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Austin, Texas. The course is one of six courses owned by Austin Parks & Recreation. The six courses are: Morris Williams Golf Course, Hancock Golf Course, Jimmy Clay Golf Course, Joe Balander Golf Course, Roy Kizer Golf Course, Lions Golf Course.
Morris Williams Golf Course first opened for play in 1964. It was designed by Leon Howard.
The course features small, slightly elevated, contoured greens. These features combined with the rolling terrain probably make Morris Williams Golf Course the most difficult of all of the Austin's courses. However, the recent addition of forward tees and the improved turf make the course playable for all levels of golfers.
Morris Williams Golf Course was named after Morris Williams Jr., potentially the best golfer ever developed in Austin. He won every trophy available to him from the Austin area, from the Texas Junior Championships to the National Air Force Trophy now named in his honor. He lost his life as a young man during the Korean war in a jet plane crash in Florida.
Morris Williams golf course served as the home of the University of Texas golf teams under legendary coaches Harvey Penick and George Hannon. During this time the University won 2 NCAA Championships with teams that featured Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.

Being on the 'Eastside', some of the patrons are loud. Neighborhood is shoddy, watch out for cars and police activity on the fairway of hole number 5.

This is a muni. So, what do you expect for a clubhouse? Great price and the course is in great shape. Best hamburgers in down.

They are currently doing major renovations to the course, but it is still worth playing. Fun, challanging, walking friendly, and great staff. Only "problem" is noise (overhead jets and street noise). Should be an even better course when the renovations are done!
